Attendant console FAQ

Q: The domain for Attendant Console does not use HTTPS in the URL. Is it still safe to use?

A: Yes, the Attendant Console is safe to use. Your personal data (such as username and password) is not exchanged between the browser and the webserver. That is why it doesn’t need to use HTTPS. The webserver only supplies the Javascript source code for the Attendant Console application. The users’ browser then connects directly and securely to Compass and backend services on a separate connection, using HTTPS.

Q: Why can’t you connect the Attendant Console over HTTPS?

A: Because the direct connection to the SNOM telephone (see ‘SNOM integration’) is only possible when the Attendant Console is loaded over HTTP.
